The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
