I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
